The Inspiron 11z becomes pricey for nothing

Dell increases the price of the 11z without any visible upgradation

The Dell Inspiron 11z came for $399 when it debuted on Dell’s website last month, but now the price has been hiked up $50 to $449. Although there are no visible differences in specs between the earlier $399 and the more expensive $449 model, a Dell representative informs Netbooked that the screen is now LED backlit is the reason for the price bump.

Dell has recently launched the Inspiron 11z CULV (Consumer ultra low voltage) notebook which would fill the void that has been created between the Mini 10 and Inspiron 13 by the removal of the Dell Mini 12 laptop. Dell has classified this laptop as a “thin-and-light” model which measures just an inch thin and weighs 3 pounds. This model is powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron 723 processor which according to Dell is about 40% faster than the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor. The Inspiron 11z has an 11.6” 1,366x768 resolution HD TLF WLED display and Intel’s GS45 integrated graphics chipset.
