Acer launches three new laptops for the UK market
All the models are targeted at business users
Acer recently launched three new business centered laptops which boast an all day battery life. These new models are a part of Acer’s new Timeline Travelmate 8000 series which offer high performance in a small ultra-thin package, just like the Aspire Timeline series which was launched earlier this year in April.
The new line-up consists of three notebooks 8571, 8471, and 8371 which have a 15.6-inch, 14-inch, and 13.3-inch LED display respectively. These models are based on Intel’s ultra-low voltage processors and use Acer’s PowerSmart technology to delivery a battery life of above 8-hours. On the inside, users can choose from a wide range of ULV processors which feature both Intel Core2 Duo and Intel Core2 Solo processors. Users can also add up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 500GB of hard disk drive or 80GB of solid state drive.
The main feature of these notebooks is its battery life which, as per company claims, is more than 8-hours. The new ULV processors coupled with a LED backlit display, SSD storage, and Acer’s PowerSmart technology ensure that the users can get more than 8-hours of computing on a single charge resulting in all day long computing. The PowerSmart technology uses special power management software that optimizes system performance so as to ensure minimal battery usage without effecting battery life.
"Timeline is ultra-thin, but with all-day battery power with an LED screen and PowerSmart technology. These are attractive products that anyone would be happy to carry with them," said Paul Dutton, Acer's UK business manager for professional compute products.
The prices of these models start at £609 for the TravelMate 8571, £599 for the 8471, and £579 for the 8371, all with 3GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive. Acer is also planning to provide users with 3G wireless as an option in the near future.
