A look at the MTube Android based MID
A different concept for the MID device
The Concept
MTube’s latest touch screen device isn’t a new mobile phone or a netbook. Instead, the Mtube Android MID is intended as a multimedia device for living room entertainment. Think of it as the master control for all of your media.
So the take is that the new M-Tube Android MID is heading straight into your home hunting for a place between you, your TV and your netbook. This very concept has already been touched upon by the Samsung LED Couple — a 55 inch LCD TV complete with 7 inch tablet controller.
The Spec Sheet
On offer is a 7.6-inch OLED touch screen, an ARM processor, internet access and wireless streaming to your very on idiot box. Now it doesn’t seem to be one.
The Working
The M-Tube can take videos, music and pictures from the tablet and play them streaming to your television using a wireless connection (Wifi I suppose).
There’s more to it…
The M-Tube can also play media on itself and even move files wireless between two M-Tube tablets. It’s not exactly production ready. The demo piece crashed while performing. But no two ways about it being an interesting use of the Android operating system.
