Dell Mini 12 being phased out of US

The darling 12” should be giving way to the more acceptable 11” models.

Retiring?

Retiring?

The Dell Mini 12 has been unavailable in Europe ever since the Mini 9 was phased out, is now not available in the USA either – reports Engadget. This could well be part of a policy to give enough windows of opportunities to the expected Dell Mini 11, supposedly a light weight slim-line addition to the Inspiron Mini series.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 offers a 12.1" display with a resolution of 1.280 x 800 pixels. The installed graphics is an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500. Furthermore, an Intel Atom Z530 processor with 1.6GHz is included and 1 GB DDR RAM is also built in.

So phasing out the Mini 12 leaves the Mini 10 and the Mini 10v in the market. The Mini 10 comes with a 10.1" LCD screen capable of displaying 1024x576 pixels. It is powered by an Atom CPU, 1GB RAM, up to 160GB hard disk space and comes with a 3-cell battery (optional 6-cell), webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a card reader. The 92% keyboard is the reason many would like to migrate to the 10-inch from a lower size.
