Nokia's Booklet 3G is available for UK pre-order

Nokia is selling the Booklet 3G for £649, but retailers are selling it for less

Nokia has started selling its Booklet 3G for £649.00 including shipping. The netbook is available for pre-order on its website. The Booklet 3G has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, an Intel GMA 950 integrated GPU, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 120GB hard drive. It also has 3G, as one would expect, but it has a very high price, which is unexpected. This netbook has an stylish aluminium shell, which adds to its base cost, however, even at £517.49, which is Handtec.co.uk's price, it is still very expensive.

The specifications are not particularly strong, although the Booklet 3G's portability is exceptional: it's just 1.25kg light and it's thickness is less than 2cm. Nokia also claims that the Booklet 3G can run for up to 12 hours on battery power, which is very impressive. The low specifications mean that the machine shouldn't get hot enough to warrant the use of fans, and Nokia have omitted such cooling devices from the machine, so it will operate very quietly.

Here are the specifications, as detailed on Nokia's product page:-

Reviews of the Booklet 3G have been rather disparaging, often criticising its price and performance, amongst other things; although a few positive reviews of the machine exist, and they have commented on the machine's excellent portability. Amazon.co.uk have a rather inflated price of £799.00 for the Booklet 3G at the moment, and they are stocking both the black and ice (white) models. Until its price falls, the Booklet 3G remains an anomaly in a mass of slightly better configured, but far cheaper netbooks.
