How much worth is your netbook warranty cover?
Does an extended warranty actually protect your interests?
Most of you think netbook warranties to be unimportant. Some netbooks comes with a limited protection plan for a short span of time. According to me if you want to extend the protection of your laptop by paying some extra bucks then do it on your own risk. Instead of paying extra bucks for protection plan I would like to put in some more money and buy a new laptop. If you have an idea of using laptop for a long time then its better to buy a new one if one breaks instead of spending money for its warranty.
Now-a-days all the PC makers give us the extended service plan and if you are willing to take up the plan then make sure that you made yourself clear with their terms. Here is a short story that will help you take your own decision. A customer purchases a laptop and after a few days he faces few problems with his laptop. The touchpad and Power adapter of his laptop had stopped working. When he went to the shop asking to fix his laptop, they denied stating a reason: they don’t consider the warranty if the operating system is changed. After this, the worst scenario was: reinstalling Windows didn’t solve the problem. Power adapter still didn’t work. Well people know installing Linux sometimes may create problem but this is not a solution after spending on the extended warranty for laptop. But luckily this problem was confined to a single store. The other store let him fix his laptop with warranty plan.
There is a point to be noted, some warranties actually may be voided if you install Linux or another operating system. So, if you are thinking to pay for extended warranty make a fair deal by your own.
