Maingear launches eX-L 18 gaming laptop
Manigear claims it to be the world’s most powerful gaming notebook

We have seen a host of gaming laptops claiming to be the world’s best or the world’s fastest like the CyberPower 17-inch X7-Xtreme S1, Alienware M17x, iBuyPower Battalion gaming notebook, etc. This time Maingear is claiming to have built the world’s most powerful gaming notebook in the form of the eX-L 18. The user is free to decide whether he/she agrees or disagrees with these claims.
The eX-L 18 comes in three configurations – budget, moderate, and premium. The budget notebook is powered by a 2.53GHz Intel Core2 Duo P8700 processor, while the premium version is powered by a 2.53GHz Intel Core2 Extreme x9300 quad-core processor. The notebook supports up to 8GB of dual-channel DDR3 memory and is powered by dual 1GB (total 2GB) Nvidia GeForce GTX 280m GPUs in SLI mode.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M GPUs are the fastest GeForce notebook GPUs ever with built-in support for Nvidia PhysX technology that enables a new world of ultra realistic gaming effects from lifelike explosions to natural water. Moreover, Nvidia CUDA technology offers breakthrough performance in compute-intensive tasks like video transcoding and photo editing, delivering up to 10x faster performance compared to traditional CPUs.
The eX-L 18 has a mammoth 18.4-inch 1,920x1,080 resolution widescreen display that brings games and multimedia to life with brilliant 3D graphics and movies in 1080p HD resolution. Other specs are as follows:

The eX-L 18 also features Maingear's M.A.R.C. custom laser etching technology. Customers can upload the image or logo of their choice so as to customize the notebook to specifically fit one’s own personal style or corporate brand. The price of this monster starts at $2,999 and can go up to as high as $6,000. This machine is available online through www.maingear.com and comes with a 14-month warranty.
