The new dm3 appeals in the aesthetic department as much as in performance
Hewlett-Packard, the American multi-national information technology corporation, has come up with another great design and it is called the Pavilion dm3. The new HP Pavilion has a very different look with soft touch surface and a metal finish both on the outside and inside. The black outer surface on the gadget is mainly part of their new CoolSense Technology. HP’s 13-inch ultraportable has got some really nice thought out designs this time, the components which releases heat has found its slot under the keyboard instead of the panel where you put your wrist, mainly to minimize the heat and an inverting motherboard and a bigger exhaust on the left-hand side. The vents at the device are towards bottom and intakes are on the front side.
Now, what is CoolSense anyway? It is a software that HP has started to put up to their newer pavilions. There’s a built-in Thermal Assistant utility which in unison with the accelerometer of dm3 is going to determine whether the laptop is on your lap or on the desk and accordingly determines the performance and cooling. The system weighs only about 4 pounds and measures less than an inch thin, but looks quite slick as it is and furthermore you can even add a backlit keyboard. They are also providing another feature called Fences where you can organize your desktop and do cleanup process with a double tap when you are going to give any presentation. HP Pavilions comes with a touchpad with integrated buttons as usual but with improved Clickpad Envy 14 which is believed to be enhancing user experience.
The system is powered by Pentium dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz but you have an option for Core i3 and ATI graphics. The 6,200mAh battery will run approximately for 7.5 hours which adds to its potentials. The price of this gadget is just $549 and you are getting whole lot within this price range. The configuration also includes wireless LAN (802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth, various ports such as 3 USBs 2.0, 1 HDMI, one for headphone and the other for microphone.
