Averatec brings new netbook to the US
The new Buddy is another Intel Atom powered netbook meant to deliver the basics in the 10.2-inch category. It is powered by Intel Atom 1.6 GHz N270 CPU, has 1GB of memory , a 160GB hard drive and Windows XP Home as the only option. Other specs include built-in webcam, VGA out and other common elements like built-in wireless LAN, a 3-in-1 memory card reader and three USB ports. The laptop was launched in Korea earlier this month, where it costs about $588.
The US version is going to be cheaper (just $450) and will have twice the storage capacity you’ll find on the Korean model.
