Samsung launches an all-new range of models that are high on graphics performance
Not long ago, Samsung had introduced its SF series of notebooks which were particularly aimed at ladies but didn’t compromise on performance. And now, Samsung brings to the market the new QX410 and RF series of laptops. The new laptops have been designed specifically for enthusiasts. The QX410 is the first Samsung notebook to use Nvidia Optimus switchable graphics for those wanting the performance boost only when it is required, otherwise not.
The QX410 packs in an Intel i5-460M processor, 4GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce 310M graphics card(with Optimus technology), and a 14-inch LED-backlit display. The Optimus technology helps you to switch to the integrated graphics for low-requirement apps such as word processing, internet browsing, and to the discrete graphics during heavy-duty apps as gaming, animation, photo/video-editing. Additionally, the QX410 features a gesture pad to facilitate use of multi-touch commands. A lithium polymer battery provides power back-up to the notebook with an estimated 7 hours of life.
The RF series consists of the RF510-S01, RF510-S02, and RF710 laptops. Both the 510 models have a 15.6-inch screen, while the RF710 features a 17.3-inch one. The RF510-S01 is powered by a Core i5-460M CPU coupled with a 500GB hard drive. On the other hand, the RF510-S02 and RF710 pack in i7-720QM quad-core processors coupled with 640GB hard drives. What’s more, the RF710 also comes with a Blu-ray drive and a second (empty) hard drive slot for the ones wanting to upgrade without replacement. The three models in the RF series have an Nvidia GeForce GT 330M graphics card, 4GB of RAM, and USB 3.0 ports as standard.
Reportedly, the QX410 will cost $929.99 and will retail only at Best Buy shops from this fall. And at the same time, theRF510-S01 priced at $939, the RF510-S02 at $1,079, and the RF710 at $1,099 will start shipping too.
