More powerful modular smartphone: HMD reportedly plans to relaunch three models

The HMD Fusion ($199 on Amazon) features an unusual, modular design that allows the smartphone to be expanded with a selfie light or a gamepad, among other accessories. In our in-depth review however, we mainly criticized its mediocre performance and low screen resolution. According to the latest information from the highly reliable leaker @smashx_60, HMD Global is now set to improve precisely these two areas.
The company is reportedly planning to relaunch the HMD Fusion for the European market, replacing the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 which offers around 25 percent higher CPU performance. The 6.56-inch IPS panel is set to receive upgrades to a 1080p+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. HMD Global is allegedly retaining a 108 MP main camera, a 50 MP selfie camera, a 5,000 mAh battery and up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage.
The manufacturer is also reportedly planning to revamp the HMD Pulse Pro, primarily upgrading the device from the Unisoc T606 to the roughly 45 percent faster MediaTek Helio G99, which is expected to be paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. While the display is expected to receive an upgrade from 90 Hz to 120 Hz, it will reportedly remain a 6.56-inch IPS panel with a 720p+ resolution. The 50 MP main camera, 50 MP selfie camera and 5,000 mAh battery are also reportedly unchanged.
Finally, the HMD Crest Max is expected to receive a processor upgrade from the Unisoc T760 to the MediaTek Dimensity 7025. The mid-range smartphone is expected to feature a 6.67-inch, 120 Hz OLED display with 1080p+ resolution, a 64 MP main camera, a 50 MP selfie camera and a 5,000 mAh battery, and will reportedly be offered with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Details about the launch date of the three revamped mid-range smartphones are not yet known.
