New Toshiba NB300 hits FCC
It remains to be seen whether it will be a worthy successor to the supreme NB205
The next generation Toshiba netbook will sport 3G wireless and GPS connectivity options – or what the FCC documents tells us. Toshiba registers a new netbook, the NB300 with FCC that should be out by early next year.
The NB300 will sport a 10.1-inch display panel and a Qualcomm Gobi2000 platform that should supports GPS, EVDO, WCDM/HSPA, CDMA200 and EDGE – as reported by Liliputing. No other specs are available now but looking at its early next year release coinciding with the release of N450, the NB300 might well come with the first Atom Pineview processor.
The predecessor NB205 was very well received and many websites state it to be one of the best netbooks around. We expect nothing less from the NB300. By the way the NB205 is known for its ultra-long battery life. The NB205 in US is known as NB200 in UK and Dynabook UX in Japan. Apart from the excellent battery backup, the NB205 also sports a TruBright display that is very comfortable even outdoor.
Toshiba was pretty late to arrive in the netbook market, but like Acer it won the hearts with only a few selected releases.
