Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Instant Hot Water Purifier 1200G in China. This new smart home product is a three piece set, including a smart tap and two under sink units to purify and heat the water.
The Mijia Instant Hot Water Purifier 1200G's filtration tank has PPC and RO filters, with the latter expected to last for five years. According to Xiaomi, they can remove 99.9% of heavy metals and certain types of bacteria. The accompanying faucet has a magnetic knob, which can be used to switch between the two modes for room temperature and hot water.
Xiaomi’s Instant Hot Water Purifier heating tank is said to deliver fresh hot water immediately upon opening the tap. Users can select from a wide range of temperatures, seemingly up to 95°C (~203°F). When dispensing hot water, there is a 1,000 ml/min (~33.8 fl. oz/min) flow rate, meaning that a 150 ml (~5.1 fl. oz) cup could be filled in nine seconds. For room temperature water, the flow rate is 3.18L/m (~108 fl. oz.min), meaning 500 ml of water can be dispensed in around nine seconds.
The smart faucet has a display showing the TDS value and current settings, with users able to adjust the temperature directly on the tap. With HyperOS Connect, users can also view water quality and consumption metrics via the Xiaomi app. On top of this, the app can be used to remotely adjust the dispensed water temperature and volume, and switch between the two outlet modes.
In China, the Xiaomi Mijia Instant Hot Water Purifier 1200G retails for CNY 3,999 (~$555). The company has not announced any plans to release this product outside of China. However, in European countries like Germany, it already sells other kitchen devices like the Smart Water Dispenser (Hot and Cold) (curr. €119.99 at Mi Store Germany).
