Motorola Edge 50 Pro rumoured to launch in Europe later this month for significantly less than expected
Motorola has now fully unveiled the Edge 50 Pro after weeks of teasers. However, the company has only released the smartphone in India so far, where it starts at INR 31,999 (~$383). Although Motorola has not commented on a global launch yet, there have been signs that the company also plans to offer the Edge 50 Pro in Europe.
Specifically, leaker @passionategeekz shared evidence of a retailer listing the device for €864.99 with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. However, it seems that price tag was overly high and that the Edge 50 Pro will be closer to the Edge 40's MSRP than the Edge 40 Pro's. For context, Motorola is expected to replace the Edge 40 Pro with the Edge 50 Ultra, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3-powered handset whose specifications and renders have already leaked online.
By contrast, the Edge 50 Pro will serve as an effective Edge 40 successor on account of its Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. Accordingly, a new retailer has revealed that it intends to sell the Edge 50 Pro for €699 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. While the earlier listing purported that Motorola has created a 512 GB storage option as well, we doubt that a €165.99 and 24% price gap would separate the two SKUs. Unfortunately, a European release date remains unknown for now, although Appuals asserts that the handset will arrive in the region later this month, possibly in 'mid-April'.
