Jackery pitched its last ~3 kilowatt-hour (kWh) portable generator as a source of back-up power in the RV or on a road trip - however, the company asserts that the Explorer 3000 Pro's new successor is also fit for the home as well.
The Solar Generator HomePower 3000's capacity is the least prepossessing of its upgrades, going up to 3,072Wh compared to 3,024Wh in the 3000 Pro - then again, the new version's batteries ditch conventional lithium-ion chemistry for that of LFP.
It is backed to retain 100% of its capacity over 4,000 charging/discharging cycles, compared to 2,000 for the 3000 Pro.
The HomePower 3000 has AC ports rated to achieve a maximum output of 3,600W as opposed to 3,000W in those of its predecessor, which might mean it has a better chance of powering a fridge for up to 2 days in the event of a blackout.
On that note, the new Solar Generator is backed to take over from a grid via an inverter in as little as 20 milliseconds (ms), while the 3000 Pro has no such spec.
The 3000 is also backed to be 2kg lighter than its Explorer-series forebear at 59.52lb, and "35% smaller" at 416 x 325 x 305 millimeters (mm).
Jackery plans to release the HomePower 3000 in a bundle with 2 solar panels on May 15, 2025 at an early bird price of $1,999, or $1,000 off its RRP.
Meanwhile, the Explorer 3000 Pro is available on Amazon right now at a price of $1,499.
