The Anker Solix F3800 Plus is a new and quite capable power station with expandable capacity and official generator compatibility. If severe weather is in the forecast, the battery can be charged quickly and automatically.

We've reported on the Solix F3800 Plus before, but now Anker’s latest power station has finally become available in the US. Specifically, it is listed for $3,199, which supposedly constitutes a big discount relative to the alleged MSRP of $4,799. It’s unclear if Anker will ever charge the regular sticker price.

That being said, the Solix F3800 Plus is designed for buyers who are looking for a powerful power station for stationary use. Anker has equipped it with four wheels, but it measures 27.6 x 15.3 x 15.6 inches and weighs a whopping 136lbs, which means it’s not portable by any stretch of the imagination.

The Chinese accessory maker advertises various charging options. Solar charging with up to 3,200 watts is possible, or the battery can be charged with a generator with up to 6,000 watts. The latter can be useful when powering multiple household appliances during a power outage. Anker also asserts that the Solix power station can charge electric cars and can be used for camping. Moreover, the so-called Storm Guard feature is advertised, which means that the F3800 Plus can start charging automatically if a weather warning is issued.

The Anker Solix F3800 Plus is equipped with lithium iron phosphate cells with a total capacity of 3,840Wh. These cells are supposed to retain over 80 percent of their original capacity after 3,000 charging cycles. Regular power sockets are available, along with USB Type-C, USB Type-A and two car power outlets. If the power goes out, the F3800 Plus should turn on within just 20ms. The Anker power station will eventually make it to the European market, but the model variant offered there will have some technical differences, such as slower solar charging and no TT-30R 120V or 14-50R 240V outputs.
