Huawei has issued a new update to the Watch GT 2 globally. According to Huawei, Lite OS 11.0.15.10 makes modest improvements, reflected in its 80 MB file size. Huawei is distributing Lite OS 11.0.15.10 now through the Huawei Health app.

Huawei continues to update the Watch GT 2, a smartwatch it announced in September 2019. Running LiteOS, a proprietary operating system, the Watch GT 2 is still available in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes, both with 4 GB of RAM and 32 MB of storage. Additionally, the Watch GT 2 has a 455 mAh battery that Huawei rates for up to two weeks between charges.

This month, Huawei is distributing 11.0.15.10 for global versions of the smartwatch. As the screenshot from Huawei Ailesi shows, 11.0.15.10 is an 80.34 MB file that you can download through the Huawei Health app. Please note, your smartphone and smartwatch must have at least 30% remaining charge before attempting to install 11.0.15.10. Also, the update is only available in the Huawei Health app; you cannot install the update using a PC, for example.

According to the update notes, Huawei claims to have optimised sleep tracking and system stability, albeit without disclosing how in either case. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen for how much longer the Watch GT 2 will receive software updates. Typically, Huawei distributes updates in batches, so 11.0.15.10 may not be ready to download to your Watch GT 2 just yet.
