Polar Pacer leaks with a familiar design and perhaps even an OLED display
Roland Quandt has shared images of an unreleased Polar smartwatch, which appears set to arrive in at least four colours. As one of the leaked images shows, the smartwatch will come to market as the Polar Pacer, a brand that the company previously used for some of its early heart rate monitors. However, the Pacer resembles the Vantage V2, a smartwatch that launched in October 2020.
The Pacer looks more like the Unite from the back though, underlining that the former may also be a cheaper offering from Polar. For context, while the Vantage V2 retails for US$499.95, Polar only charges US$149.95 for the Unite. Still, that should mean that the Pacer contains Polar's heart rate tracking technologies, which it markets as 'Precision Prime'. You can read more about Precision Prime on Polar's dedicated support page.
Additionally, there seems to be no colour difference between the Pacer's frame and display, implying that Polar has included an OLED panel. Unfortunately, it is unclear when Polar will reveal the Pacer, although the appearance of marketing images suggests that a release date is close.
