Leaked Polar Vantage V2 retail listing points to an October release
Polar released the Vantage V smartwatch in 2018, so the time should be ripe for a new model. There has been no official word on the release of a new model, but Finnish retailer Prisma believes that a successor is on the horizon. The retailer even went so far as to list a release date of October 10, according to Gadgets & Wearables. This date would seem unlikely though seeing as it is a Saturday, so this may refer to the device's launch date, instead.
Prisma has since removed the listing, but Gadgets & Wearables managed to source a screenshot containing thumbnails of the smartwatch. Oddly, the Polar Vantage V2 looks almost unchanged from the current model. Five physical buttons still surround a circular watch face, while the black silicone strap also returns. According to Gadgets & Wearables, Prisma listed the Vantage V2 for €499, which would put the smartwatch on par with the launch price of the original Vantage V.
The listing did not reveal any internal changes that Polar has made, presuming that the Vantage V2 is actually coming to market. Gadgets & Wearables speculates that Polar could add music controls and weather notifications, along with improved sensors and a newer GPS module. It is unknown whether Polar plans to release a new version of the Vantage M alongside the Vantage V2, though.
