BioIntelliSense launches BioButton Rechargeable wearable that can measure over 20 vital signs
BioIntelliSense has launched a new wearable, the BioButton Rechargeable. BioIntelliSense is a continuous health monitoring and clinical intelligence company looking to improve remote patient care. The device offers always-on medical-grade monitoring of biometrics and over 20 vital signs to detect the early signs of illness or deterioration of health.
The gadget takes up to 1,400 passive vital sign measurements each day. The volume of data collected enables the device to spot trends that could be the early signs of an illness. It uses an algorithm to analyze the information then trigger personalized alerts for various metrics, including temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, gait analysis and infection-like symptoms.
The BioButton is a stick-on wearable that you place on the skin near your heart. The gadget is about the size of a coin and has a series of built-in lights to indicate its status. You can wear the device while exercising or showering, though BioIntelliSense recommends that it is not underwater for more than 30 minutes.
The BioButton Rechargeable can last up to 30 days between charges. It follows in the footsteps of the disposable BioButton and the BioSticker, with the latter having FDA approval.
The company says that continuous monitoring solutions like the BioButton are being adopted across the globe to aid an increasingly stretched medical workforce. BioIntelliSense is a B2B company, so you can’t currently buy a BioButton Rechargeable for personal use.
