Google is now rolling out its monthly update for regularly supported Pixel devices. Available from the Pixel 6 series onwards, 'BP2A' builds are also available on devices that sit outside Google's conventional naming schemes like the Pixel Tablet (curr. $379 on Amazon).
In short, this month's update does not contain any new features. Instead, Google tends to reserve these for Pixel Feature Drops. Nonetheless, BP2A builds contain fixes for a few noticeable bugs that existed in earlier software. For instance, this month's patch addresses the faulty 'back' gesture that people have recently been encountering, an example of which we have embedded below. Moreover, Google claims that the new update also fixes an issue that prevented dark mode from adhering to user-defined schedules.
Allegedly, BP2A builds should enhance system stability and performance, too. However, Google has not elaborated on what conditions one can expect to see these improvements. On top of that, Google has bundled the August 2025 set of security patches. Please see the latest Pixel Update Bulletin for the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) this month's update addresses.
