Google began offering wireless charging on its smartphones starting with the Pixel 3 but the Pixel 10 series will be the first to have support for magnetic wireless charging without the need for a case. The confirmation comes via a leaked image shared by Evan Blass on X.
The image posted by the prominent leaker shows the base Pixel 10 with a magnetic wireless charger attached to the back of the phone. Based on this image, it is safe to say all of the Pixel 10 series will have support for magnetic wireless charging since the base Pixel 10 supports it.
It also means the Pixel 10 should get a boost in wireless charging speed when using a Qi2 charger compared to the Pixel 9 (available on Amazon for $799) since Qi2 wireless charging standard supports 15W charging. However, it remains to be seen if the Pixel 10 and its siblings support the new Qi2 25W charging standard.
By adding the magnets to the phone itself, the Pixel 10 series not only supports magnetic wireless charging but also gains compatibility with the dozens of magnetic accessories available on the market including wallets and mounts.
The Pixel 10 series is scheduled to be announced on August 10. It will include the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
