After an extensive leak recently revealed numerous details about the Redmi 15 5G, Xiaomi has now officially unveiled the mid-range smartphone for the first time on a teaser website. This website confirms that the Redmi 15 5G will be officially unveiled on 19 August, 2025. The smartphone will be available in at least three colours: Sandy Purple, Frosted White and Midnight Black.
All three versions feature a strikingly textured back, ranging from a matte texture on the black model to a striking ice texture on the white variant. The real highlight is the battery, which has a remarkable capacity of 7,000 mAh. The silicon-carbon battery is said to retain 80% of its original capacity after four years of use. According to Xiaomi, the Redmi 15 5G can also be used as a power bank and charge other devices with up to 18 watts via a USB-C cable.
The battery is said to provide a runtime of 23.5 hours when playing YouTube videos or 55.6 hours when streaming music via Spotify. The mid-range smartphone features a 6.9-inch, 144 Hz display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, a 6 nm ARM chip from 2024 that houses two ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores with boost clock speeds up to 2.3 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores.
According to a previous leak, the Redmi 15 5G will come with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage. Cameras include an 8 MP selfie camera and a 50 MP main camera. To reduce costs, Xiaomi is reportedly installing an IPS panel instead of an OLED, while the casing is only IP54 certified and so not fully waterproof.
