Garmin has released software version 17.40 for the Forerunner 945 LTE smartwatch. It follows a recent beta version of this release and arrives almost a year after the last stable update, version 17.30. The previous release fixed a rebooting issue.
Software version 17.40 brings four changes to the Forerunner 945 LTE smartwatch. Firstly, it is said to improve inReach pairing when connecting the wearable to a Garmin satellite communication device. The release notes state that there is also a fix for a potential crash when starting LTE. On top of this, bugs linked to the Real Time Settings for Live Event Sharing and for Spectator Messaging have been resolved.
It is worth noting that one Forerunner 945 user has reported fresh issues with the Spectator Messaging feature. However, it is unclear how many users are affected by this issue. According to a recent forum post, this release has reached at least 50% of users of the Forerunner 945 LTE smartwatch (curr. $335 at Amazon). You can download the update through the Garmin Connect Mobile app or using the Garmin Express computer software.
