Fitbit rolling out new update for improved sleep tracking
Fitbit is rolling out a new version of its app with a redesigned Sleep section. Available for iOS and Android, the Fitbit app was overhauled with the Material You update last year. Now, Fitbit is improving the user experience when viewing sleep health insights on data collected using smartwatches like the Fitbit Charge 6.
According to the release notes, Fitbit has tried to make the Sleep section easier to navigate, showing key statistics like your sleep duration, sleep score and sleep timeline in the same view. The Sleep timeline has extra detail, with further insights revealed when you press and hold on a section of the chart. Plus, views for the week, month and year allow you to analyze how your sleep habits have changed over a period of time.
One Fitbit Charge 5 iOS user in Italy reported seeing the new layout after updating to the app version 4.14.1. However, another Versa 4 iOS customer in the US said that they have yet to see the redesign despite the update. In the forum, a company representative confirmed that the update was being released in waves, possibly by region, and that it “can take some time to reach all users”. Fitbit has yet to specify the date when all users can expect to have the latest app design.
