Casio's highly awaited GMW-BZ5000D is now reportedly headed for a late 2025 launch in Japan, with the international rollout scheduled for early 2026. If this report by Great G-Shock World is accurate, the timeline will result in the typical 1-2 month delay between domestic and overseas availability, which is pretty consistent with older full metal G-Shock releases.
Launch schedule and editions
- Three primary versions have surfaced so far: silver, gold, and black, all with the classic "square" full-metal construction.
- Initial models (silver and gold tone) are expected to be widely available through standard retailers, while the black edition will be limited to specific partner shops with expected premium, non-discounted pricing.
- The base price in Japan for the silver GMW-BZ5000D will be approximately ¥93,500 (~$632). European pricing for the silver model is expected to be €599 (~$696), with colored ion-plated versions (black, gold) set at €649 (~$754).
Design and technical upgrades
- The new models will introduce a triple-layer case architecture, sharper lines, and revised lugs, unlike the bestselling GMW-B5000D-1 (curr. $548 on Amazon).
- Both high-resolution photos and community leaks confirm use of MIP LCD tech, which offers better visibility over earlier G-Shock digitals.
- Core features include Tough Solar charging, Multi-Band 6, Bluetooth app connection, 200-meter water resistance, and Japanese assembly.
The 2018 GMW-B5000D and later colorways such as the B5000BT are still strong performers in terms of sales and following, which is evident by the bestselling lists on the official Casio website. With an official announcement likely just around the corner, we can expect all the hazy details to become more concrete soon enough.
