A leak from Japanese sources suggests that the upcoming Casio G-Shock Frogman model GW-8200TPF-1 will release around December 2025. This would be the second "Yadokugaeru (Poison Dart Frog)" Frogman edition, marking the series' 30th anniversary.
The GW-8200TPF-1 has a unique exterior that looks very much like the bumpy, textured skin of a frog. The case and strap feature a tactile surface similar to frog skin, paired with bold yellow-and-black coloring. This follows a similar animal-inspired design approach featured in the prior GWF-A1000APF-1AJR.
Pricing leaked from overseas indicates a retail cost in Japan of approximately ¥95,000 (~$650), way higher than earlier GW-8200 models priced near ¥70,000. The price premium is likely due to upgraded materials and the special textured finish.
The new model is expected to have the same key technical features from the GW-8200 series, including Tough Solar charging, ISO-certified 200m water resistance, titanium case back, dive time and surface interval measurement, and memory for ten dive logs.
Official details and launch dates are still unconfirmed, with the leak primarily drawing from social media insiders and Japanese watch news blogs. The GW-8200TPF will definitely get a lot of attention from G-Shock collectors and diving watch enthusiasts when it becomes available.
