BenQ Zowie XL2546X debuts as new 24.5-inch and 240 Hz gaming monitor for $499
BenQ has introduced the Zowie XL2546X, a lesser alternative to the Zowie XL2586X that it also recently introduced. As such, the Zowie XL2546X utilises TN technology, which BenQ advertises as a 'Fast TN' panel. In this case, the Zowie XL2546X measures 24.5-inches across and outputs at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio, as does the Zowie XL2586X.
However, the Zowie XL2546X peaks at a 240 Hz refresh rate, 300 Hz lower than the Zowie XL2586X that can reach 540 Hz. Nonetheless, BenQ's decision to include HDMI 2.0 ports restricts the Zowie XL2546X to 120 Hz when connected to a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series S|X console. As a result, the gaming monitor can only deliver 240 Hz visuals via its sole DisplayPort 1.2 connection.
Moreover, the 24.5-inch monitor integrates DyAc 2 technology to reduce blur while providing a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 320 nits peak brightness. Please note that the Zowie XL2546X lacks any USB ports, unlike many of its competitors. Nonetheless, BenQ includes an external control unit for changing display parameters and a stand that supports fine tune adjustments. The BenQ Zowie XL2546X retails for $499 in the US and is already orderable, unlike the Zowie XL2586X.
