Earlier this week, Android Headlines and OnLeaks teamed up to share what they believe are accurate representations of how the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7 will look when they launch later this year. Not only that, but the pair revealed dimensions for both models, as well as prospective screen sizes.
To recap, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is slated to utilise 3.6-inch cover and 6.8-inch foldable displays within a 166.6 x 75.2 x 6.9 mm housing. By contrast, Android Headlines and OnLeaks assert that the Galaxy Z Fold7 will come in at 158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5 mm with 6.5-inch cover and 8.2-inch foldable displays. In other words, this year's Galaxy Z foldables should be noticeably larger than the existing Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,379.97 on Amazon).
According to Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), these display sizes are not inaccurate. Instead, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is said to be launching with a 6.85-inch foldable display, which would put it 0.05-inches short of Razr 50 Ultra and way beyond the 6.7-inch panel inside the Galaxy Z Flip6. The new 6.85-inch panel is also expected to incorporate Colour on Encapsulation (CoE/POL-LESS) technology, which ditches a dedicated polariser for improved panel efficiency.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Fold7 may have slightly smaller displays than previously reported. Apparently, this year's Galaxy Z Fold will arrive with 6.49-inch cover and 8.0-inch foldable panels, not 6.5-inch and 8.2-inches as Android Headlines and OnLeaks claimed. If true, this would mean that the Galaxy Z Fold7 arrives with the same display sizes as the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, albeit within a housing that could be marginally thinner than its 10.6 mm-thick predecessor. Currently, both smartphones are believed to be launching in the summer before a 2H 2025 release for Samsung's first tri-fold smartphone.
