AYA postpones the crowdfunding campaign of its AYA NEO Founders Edition handheld games console indefinitely

Last month, we reported that the AYA NEO would not reach Indiegogo by the end of February, as planned. Apparently, the company behind the handheld games console chose to delay its crowdfunding campaign because of factory closures associated with Chinese New Year.

However, now the company has another scapegoat, the global shortage of electronic components. Admirably, AYA wants to 'secure the preparation of production materials' before launching its Indiegogo campaign and collecting money from backers. Ultimately though, companies have known about electronic component shortages for a while, as they would have done with factories closing for Chinese New Year.

AYA will no longer give a rough date by when it hopes to start the campaign either, nor when it hopes to secure production materials. Hence, it seems that the AYA NEO Indiegogo campaign is postponed until further notice. You can read AYA's statement below.

Separately, the company has announced that it will sell a docking station for the AYA NEO, along with a glass screen protector, a carry case, a cap and a grip. These accessories hinge on AYA, bringing the NEO to Indiegogo, which is currently looking less and less likely.
