New information has appeared online about the Pixel Tablet and its accompanying dock. Likely launching with the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold during Google's I/O 2023 keynote, new leaks have outlined how its dock will work and show what it looks like from all sides.

Google announced the Pixel Tablet during last year's I/O keynote, with more details provided in October as it released the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Google has not shared any concrete details since, but the tablet rumoured to return in May at I/O 2023 with the Pixel 7a and maybe even the Pixel Fold. However, @_snoopytech_ and 9to5Google have shed new light on the tablet's accompanying dock, which turns it into a glorified smart speaker.

For reference, Kuba Wojciechowski reported in January that Google had developed two docks. Supposedly, Google showcased 'korlan' or 'K6' in October, which supports audio-pass through and charging. Also, there is a second dock codenamed 'yuzu' and 'Y4' that will only charge the Pixel Tablet. @_snoopytech_ has now shared four product images of a Pixel Tablet dock that show the accessory from all sides.

Effectively, the dock resembles the bottom portion of the Nest Hub Max and may even use the same power connector. The dock will hold the Pixel Tablet in place with several magnets and will charge it via four pogo-pin connectors. It is unclear whether the dock shown is 'korlan' or 'yuzu', although the fabric cover implies that it is the former rather than the latter.

Meanwhile, 9to5Google has discovered evidence of the Pixel Tablet's 'Hub Mode' functionality within Google Home app code. Apparently, the Pixel Tablet will automatically activate this mode when placed onto its dock. In turn, 'Hub Mode' will turn the Pixel Tablet into a de-facto smart speaker, albeit one with considerably more power than the Nest Hub Max. Currently, signs are that Google has based the Pixel Tablet around the Tensor G2, which also powers the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
