Google Pixel Watch: New April 2023 update starts rolling out globally
The Pixel Watch has received another update, only a few weeks after Google rolled out RWDA.230114.008. To recap, the March 2023 update contained numerous changes like fall detection and the ability to rotate the crown to wake the device. Incidentally, while Google claimed that it had bundled a Battery Saver Quick Settings tile within RWDA.230114.008, that new feature arrived a few days after the company finished its March 2023 rollout.
Now, the company has announced RWDA.230114.010, which is a return to the Pixel Watch's January and February 2023 updates. Specifically, Google has not added any features this time around. In fact, the company has not rolled in any bug fixes either. Instead, it has merely updated the Pixel Watch to the April 2023 set of Android security patches.
According to its latest Pixel Update Bulletin document, this month's Android security patch update addresses over a dozen Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs). However, Google has not confirmed whether all apply to the Pixel Watch. Regardless, Google tends to take a few days before finalising a Pixel Watch software update rollout. Hence, your device may not yet be eligible for RWDA.230114.010. Alternatively, tapping the smartwatch icon on the System updates page should prompt the download of this month's update.
