TechGoing and /LEAKS have revealed case designs for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, Google's next-generation flagships. For reference, @OnLeaks published high-resolution renders of both smartphones last month. Subsequently, Ross Young revealed precise display details, covered separately.
As the leaked case designs show, the Pixel 8 has a more rounded design than its predecessor, with thinner bezels to boot. Reportedly, the Pixel 8 will feature a 6.16-inch display, compared to the 6.32-inch panel found in the Pixel 7. The former is also expected to be approximately 5.1 mm short and 2.4 mm narrower than the latter, with its 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9 mm dimensions making it one of the smaller flagship smartphones around.
Moreover, the Pixel 8 Pro can be seen with a flat display, as well as a tweaked camera housing compared to the Pixel 7 Pro. While the wide camera bar remains, Google has moved away from individual lens covers. Instead, Pixel 8 Pro's three cameras will sit behind a single pill-shaped glass cover, although there is a second lens cover for a presumed LiDAR sensor. Although the Pixel 8 series is not expected to launch until the autumn, Google may preview both models next month during its I/O 2023 keynote alongside Android 14, the Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet and the Pixel Fold.
