The InkPad 4 is Pocketbook's latest E-Reader, which it equips with a 7.8-inch E Ink Carta 1200 display. According to the company, the InkPad 4 operates at 1,404 x 1,872 pixels with a 300 DPI. Additionally, Pocketbook has included a capacitive touchscreen and a front light for reading in low-light conditions.
Supposedly, the InkPad 4 has a 20% faster display with a 15% higher contrast ratio than earlier models. Moreover, the E-Reader features 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a 2,000 mAh battery that can be recharged via USB Type-C. For reference, the InkPad 4 measures 134 x 189.5 x 7.95 mm, weighs 265 g and is IPX8 certified. Also, Pocketbook has pre-installed Linux 3.10.65, an OS that debuted in 2015.
Currently, Pocketbook hopes to start selling the InkPad 4 by the end of the month. The tablet should be available from the likes of Amazon and Newegg for US$289. While neither retailer has listed the Pocketbook InkPad 4 yet, Goodereader is already selling the device and is apparently shipping orders now.
