Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ design revealed by new leak
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy S23 FE have been talked about quite a bit in the past few days. On the other hand, Samsung's flagship Galaxy S9 series of tablets have largely stayed out of mainstream discourse. Prolific leaker @OnLeaks, in collaboration with Wolfoftablet, has now sought to change that through some crisp Galaxy Tab S9+ renders.
Design-wise, the middle-of-the-pack offering doesn't differ much from its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S8+. The screen is surrounded by noticeably thick bezels, and the back has a magnetic silo for the S Pen, above which lie the tablet's two camera sensors. The Galaxy Tab S9+'s front-facing camera is on the right spine, likely to facilitate operation in landscape mode. There's a second sensor there, too, but the report doesn't specify its purpose.
Additionally, the tablet will measure 285.4 mm x 185.4 mm x 5.64 mm and lack a 3.5mm audio jack. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ does, however, up its screen size to 12.9 inches (vs 12.4 on the Galaxy Tab S8+). One can reasonably assume it will use a high-end 120 Hz AMOLED panel like the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. While its battery capacity isn't specified, the Galaxy Tab S9+ will support 45 Watt fast charging over USB-C.
Even high-end tablets aren't immune to sub-par camera hardware, and the Galaxy Tab S9+ could be no exception. At best, one can expect to see an upgraded version of the 13 MP+ 8 MP duo found on the Tab S8+. On the SoC side, there are conflicting reports about the trio using either a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 or a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. Alternatively, Samsung could go for a two-pronged approach, reserving the latter for the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.
