Rakuten Kobo is now selling the Kobo Elipsa 2E, a 10.3-inch E-Reader that supports touch and pen input. Available in the US for US$399.99, the E-Reader comes with an improved stylus and offers adjustable colour temperature, unlike its predecessor.

Rakuten Kobo has started selling the Kobo Elipsa 2E, a 10.3-inch tablet with an E Ink display. While the Kobo Elipsa 2E has the same display as the Elipsa that Rakuten Kobo released in 2021, the newer model has a new front-lit system and supports adjustable colour temperature. For reference, the display still supports 16 shades of grey.

Additionally, the Kobo Elipsa 2E features a touchscreen layer and offers pen input. Hence, the Kobo Elipsa 2E could be used for notetaking or sketching. Rakuten Kobo also includes a stylus in the box, which it has updated to provide USB Type-C charging, a built-in eraser and a highlighter button. The stylus magnetically attaches to the Kobo Elipsa 2E too, as the manufacturer's images show.

Rakuten Kobo no longer includes a case though, which retails for US$70. The new Kobo Elipsa retains its predecessor's 32 GB of storage and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, although its unnamed quad-core processor runs at a 200 MHz higher boost clock than the one in the 2021 model. The Kobo Elipsa still measures 192 x 227 x 7.5 mm too, but its weight has increased from 383 g to 390 g. Rakuten Kobo charges US$399.99 for the Kobo Elipsa 2E at launch; more details can be found on the manufacturer's website.
