Various sources have provided fresh insights into the iPhone SE 4, which has also been referred to in some quarters as the iPhone 16e. Currently, the next affordable iPhone is expected to line up with an Apple A18 chipset from the iPhone 16 series, as well as a 48 MP primary camera like the rest of Apple's recent smartphone releases.
In the last few weeks, there have been suggestions that the iPhone SE 4 could feature the Dynamic Island. More recent reports suggest otherwise though, including one from the typically-reliable Ross Young. Consequently, it seems likely that the device will mark a return of Apple's notched display design. Leaker @billbil_kun now claims that the unreleased iPhone will measure 146.7 x 71.5 mm too, which would make it as tall and wide as the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 (curr. $370 - renewed on Amazon), among others.
Meanwhile, Mark Gurman alleges that the iPhone SE 4 will start at around $500 in the US. If correct, this would see the device launching for almost 40% less than the iPhone 16 but 15% more than the most recent iPhone SE. For now, the official arrival of the iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16e is anticipated for sometime next month, likely after Apple releases the Powerbeats Pro 2.
