The Cubot Tab 40 is a budget tablet based around a Unisoc Tiger T616 chipset and a 10.4-inch display. Available now for as little as US$109.99, the Cubot Tab 40 also has 8 GB of RAM and comes pre-installed with Android 13.

Cubot has introduced a new budget Android tablet, which it debuted alongside the Note 21 smartphone. According to the company, it has based the Tab 40 on the Unisoc Tiger T616, a 12 nm chipset that we tested earlier this month in the Motorola Moto G14. The Unisoc Tiger T616 is nearly four years old at this point, firmly cementing it as a budget option for Android OEMs.

Additionally, the Cubot Tab 40 has 8 GB of RAM, a 7,500 mAh battery and 128 GB of expandable storage. Please note that the tablet will have less than 128 GB of storage available out of the box though, in part because of Cubot's Android 13 installation. Moreover, the Cubot Tab 40 has a 10.4-inch IPS display that resolves at 2,000 x 1,200 pixels. Since Cubot does not mention a refresh rate on its website, we suspect the Tab 40 operates at a fixed 60 Hz.

Furthermore, the tablet features a 5 MP front-facing camera and a 13 MP rear-facing sensor. For reference, Cubot has included all these components within a 247.3 x 157.1 x 7.7 mm housing that weighs 449 g. Currently, Cubot sells the Tab 40 on AliExpress for US$129.99 in a grey colourway. Purportedly, the tablet could eventually cost US$199.99, although it can already be picked up at a discounted US$109.99 with coupon code NEWTAB40. Please see Cubot's website for more details.
