Although it arrived over a year ago, the NVIDIA RTX 3000 family of video cards is still relevant as the only RTX 4000 series model currently available — and often not easy to find in stock — is the high-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. While the arrival of the RTX 4080, which is supposed to take place on November 16, might help change the pricing of the previous generation, RTX 3000 video cards remain quite expensive, even after discounts of 20 percent or more.
Roughly twice as fast as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, which arrived in 2019 for a very reasonable US$499, the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti AMP Holo 12GB is now available for US1,053.98. This price is the result of a 26 percent discount that applies to the list price of US$1,429.99. After 109 customer reviews, the card has a decent score of 4.2 out of 5, the main problem being the price. The breakdown shows a 4.2 gaming score, 3.8 for noise, 3.2 for materials/build quality, and a mere 2.6 "value for money" score.
In the past, the aforementioned card was available on Amazon for up to US1,899 (in November 2021). Its list of specs and features includes a memory speed of 19 Gbps and a boost clock frequency of up to 1,710 MHz, advanced semi-passive cooling and RGB lighting solutions by ZOTAC, HDCP 2.3 support, 3 X DisplayPort 1.4a, as well as one HDMI 2.1 port (with 8K capability). The ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti AMP Holo 12GB uses up to 350 W of power, so a typical desktop system should have a 750 W power supply to accommodate it.
