Besides the recently unveiled EQE crossover, or what Mercedes calls a "multipurpose variant," it also has an E-class electric sedan with the same name that was announced in 2021 and went on sale for European customers back in the spring. This same luxury Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan will be launched in the US this month and now the storied automaker announced the pricing that eschews direct competition with either the Tesla Model S or the cheaper Model 3.
The premium Mercedes EQE sedan is still priced competitively, it just sits between the Model 3 and Model S, both in terms of specs or features, and when it comes to pricing. Here's the Mercedes EQE sedan price range for the three different versions and their Premium, Exclusive, or Pinnacle trim levels:
- EQE 350+ Sedan price (Premium / Exclusive / Pinnacle): $74,900 / $77,000 / $80,500
- EQE 350 4MATIC price (Premium / Exclusive / Pinnacle): $77,900/ $80,500/ $83,500
- EQE 500 4MATIC price price (Premium / Exclusive / Pinnacle): $85,900/ $88,000/ $91,500
As to what would the different EQE trims entail, Mercedes says that even the base Premium version comes with the following features:
- MBUX EQ Navigation Services including Navigation with Electric Intelligence
- Parking Package with Surround View System and PARKTRONIC
- Heated Front Seats MB-Tex Upholstery on EQE 350+ / 350 4MATIC, Leather Upholstery on EQE 500
- 4MATIC Power Tilt and Sliding Panorama Roof
- Burmester Sound System
- Keyless-Go
- Comfort Package
- 64-Color Ambient Lighting
- Rear Axle Steering (EQE 500 4MATIC only)
The Exclusive EQE trim adds MBUX Augmented Reality for Navigation, Active Ambient Light, and Driver Assistance Package for US$2,100 more, while another US$3,500 will net buyers Four-Zone Climate Control, an Air Balance Package, Energizing Comfort, a Head-Up Display, 100W USB-C Package, and a DIGITAL LIGHT Package in the Pinnacle trim.
Mercedes is still mum on the exact EQE AWD configurations and horse power specs list, or the versions' range on a charge, save for the 305 miles of EPA estimate for the base 350+ model with a 90.6 kWh battery. If we take the European 350+ model as a reference point, we'd be looking at 288 HP and 417 pound-feet of torque and 30 minutes of charging time from 10% capacity on a fast 170 kW stall.
With an AWD Model S starting from $104,990, and a base Model 3 from $46,990, the Mercedes EQE luxury vehicle seems to be priced in the golden middle between Tesla's sedan options, considering all the premium features it offers.
