GPD is finally preparing to launch the Win 4, a gaming handheld that it began teasing in mid-September. Subsequently, the company revealed numerous details about the Win 4 and compared it several times to the Steam Deck. Setting that comparison aside, the GPD Win 4 features the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U and Radeon 680M iGPU, which it complements with 16 GB or 32 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM.
Additionally, the Win 4 has a 6-inch display that operates at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and which slides up to reveal a small backlit keyboard. Moreover, the gaming handheld has a 45.62 Wh battery, 1 TB or 2 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. Incidentally, GPD has equipped the Win 4 with USB 4, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A and USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, plus a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot.
Furthermore, the Win 4 is capable of dual-booting Windows and Steam OS, mirroring the functionality of the Steam Deck. Currently, GPD expects to start selling the Win 4 by the end of the month. However, the device's Indiegogo campaign is already available to view in preview mode. As it stands, GPD has set a modest HKD$20,000 (~US$2,548) campaign goal. Based on the success of the similarly-equipped Win Max 2, the Win 4 should meet its campaign goal within a few minutes of going live.
