Xiaomi works its magic: Spectacular battery life in our review of its new flagship tablet

In our review of the Pad 9 Pro Max, Xiaomi solves what is arguably the biggest problem with the iPad Pro 13 or Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra - namely, their modest battery life. Both high-end tablets last around 13 hours in our battery test at an adjusted display brightness.
Xiaomi's current flagship tablet is in a different league here, even though, on paper, its LCD should put it at a disadvantage against the power-efficient OLED competition from Apple and Samsung.
Long battery life and fast charging make the Pad 9 Pro Max the ultimate companion for travelers and power users
The Pad 9 Pro Max is equipped with a large 12,000 mAh battery, helping the Xiaomi tablet achieve an outstanding result of over 24 hours in our battery test. That is almost twice as long as the iPad Pro 13 or Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, making the Pad 9 Pro Max a true endurance champion.
But Xiaomi also scores points beyond sheer battery capacity. The flagship tablet charges via its USB-C port at up to 120 watts. We did not achieve the spectacular charging time of around 50 minutes claimed by the manufacturer in our testing, but 70 minutes from 0 to 100 percent is still an impressive result for an XXL battery.
In addition, Xiaomi's flagship tablet supports wired reverse charging at up to 27 watts. This allows you to power your smartwatch or headphones on the go.
Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max offers an intriguing feature
Xiaomi also equips its high-end tablet with a feature that almost no other tablet offers and that really should now be included in every flagship tablet. To find out what clever feature the Pad 9 Pro Max (prices start at around $1,000) offers, read Notebookcheck's review.
