Xiaomi launched its new gaming monitor, the Mi Surface, last month (October 2019) in China. Now, the blog MyDrivers claims to have heard that it is coming back in a different size. The first iteration had a 34-inch panel, whereas this new variant is rumored to be 5 inches smaller. However, it may retain the rest of the emerging display series' specs.
The first Xiaomi Mi Surface has a panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio, AMD FreeSync, 121% of the sRGB color space and a 4 millisecond (ms) response time. The rumored 29-inch variant may also have these attributes, and also be as 1500R-curved as its predecessor. It is also said to retain the 34-inch model's 144Hz refresh rate.
MyDrivers also asserts that this device will be the third Mi Surface, not the second: apparently, there is a 23.8-inch variant knocking around the OEM's domestic market at present. The blog was less specific about the 29-inch Mi Surface's putative price-tag, however. The first of this line started at 1999 yuan (about US$280); therefore, the new product could be expected to go for a little less than this.
