Xiaomi quietly launches new Redmi M series phone

Xiaomi has expanded its smartphone lineup with the Redmi M100 in China. Notably, this is the first smartphone in the Redmi M series.
The Redmi M100 shares several features with the global Redmi 17 5G, including its design language and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. For reference, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is an entry-level chipset based on a 4nm process node. The Redmi M100 comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
It features a 6.9-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It comes with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. In contrast, the global Redmi 17 5G has a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera.
The Redmi M100 packs a 7,900mAh battery (20K Anker powerbank curr. $69.99 on Amazon). It supports 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. The phone supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, 5G, and NFC.
Additionally, it features a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 out of the box.
The Redmi M100 is available in Midnight Black, Starry White, and Wilderness Green colorways. It comes in 8GB/128GB, 6GB/256GB, and 8GB/256GB memory configurations. These configurations are priced at CNY 1,799 (~$267), CNY 1,999 (~$296), and CNY 2,199 (~$326), respectively.
