Xiaomi launches new Smart Door Lock 2 Pro with facial recognition
The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 2 Pro has arrived in China. The primary feature of the new model is AI 3D facial recognition, automatically unlocking the door when you are detected. This tool is suitable for adults and children who are 1.2 to 2 m (3‘11“ and 6‘7“) tall, standing a distance of 0.4-0.8 m (~1.3-2.6 ft) away.
There are ten ways to unlock the Smart Door Lock 2 Pro, including fingerprint recognition, a password, NFC and a smartphone. The built-in 160° ultra wide-angle camera has a human detection feature, with the image shown on a larger HD display integrated into the interior half of the product. Other features include night vision, automatic locking on closing and a microphone. With HyperOS Connect, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, you can use the Xiaomi app to check the lock’s status and adjust settings. Plus, you can link it to other smart devices to receive notifications and speak to people at your door from a smart home panel or even the infotainment system on your Xiaomi SU7 EV.
The 5,000mAh battery is recharged via USB-C and lasts up to 4 months with typical use. You can now pre-order the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 2 Pro, locking in the discounted price of 2,299 yuan (~$321). The product is expected to retail for 2,499 yuan (~$349). Whether it will launch in other markets like Europe is unknown.
