Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 1C in China. The ceiling-mounted smart home device combines a motorized clothes dryer and dimmable light. The product’s features include HyperOS Connect for smart home integration, Xiao AI voice commands and app-based controls.

The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 1C has been launched in China. The smart home device is designed to be mounted on your ceiling and has a large dimmable 22W light at its centre. According to the product listing, the dryer can support loads weighing up to 35 kg (~77 lbs), which Xiaomi suggests is around 60 items of clothing.

The Smart Clothes Dryer 1C is modular, providing slots for hangers or telescopic rods, extendable up to 2.2 m (~7.2 ft), over which you could drape towels or bed linen. A quieter DC motor powers the device, automatically cutting out if an obstacle is detected. You can set a customized position in the Mijia app, where you can also adjust the light and other features. Alternatively, the dryer can be moved with Xiao AI voice commands or gently pushed upwards to modify the height slightly. Plus, thanks to HyperOS Connect, you can trigger the dryer from another smart home device; for example, it could lower when your smart washing machine cycle ends.

You can now buy the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 1C in China for 799 yuan (~$112). This device is unlikely to launch in other markets like Europe, where such products are less popular. However, Xiaomi sells other smart home products like the S12 Robot Vacuum Cleaner in countries including Germany.
