New Xiaomi Mijia Smart Washer Dryer with HyperOS arrives
The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Wash Pro Washer Dryer 12kg is now available to pre-order in China. The new smart home product allows you to wash loads up to 12 kg (~26.5 lbs), which the company equates to 60 t-shirts or 20 pairs of jeans, and dry loads up to 9 kg (~19.8 lbs).
You can choose from 26 washing programs using a touch display on the front of the device. Running on Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, smart features of the washer-dryer include laundry detergent dosing based on the sensed load; Xiaomi claims this allows you to load detergent as little as once a month. Further controls are offered via the Xiaomi app, where you can customize the wash based on the load. For example, you can select from four levels ranging from light dirt to heavy dirt, which in turn adjust the water level. According to the product list, other features include a 99.999% sterilization rate, 100% mite removal, and an automatic pause when the machine senses the clothes are dry.
The model is described as ultra-thin, measuring 540mm (~21.3 inches) deep. You can now pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Wash Pro Washer Dryer 12kg in China for the discounted price of 2,999 yuan (~$418); the product has an RRP of 3,499 yuan (~$488). Whether Xiaomi could launch this smart wash dryer in other markets like Europe remains to be seen.
