Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 5G series to debut on November 24 with global launched planned as the Redmi Note 9T and Redmi Note 9T Pro
Rumours about the Redmi Note 9 5G have been bubbling under since June. More recently, the TENAA presented two SKUs by the model numbers of M2007J17C and M2007J22C, while the series is thought to start anywhere from around CNY 1,000 (~US$151). Apparently, Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Note 9 5G series in China on November 24, but there will also be global editions.
Based on the sleuthing of Abhishek Yadav, it seems that Xiaomi plans to launch the Redmi Note 9 5G as the Redmi Note 9T internationally, which would help the company distinguish it from the current Redmi Note 9 series, somewhat. From what we can tell, Xiaomi will differentiate the Redmi Note 9T and Redmi Note 9T Pro by chipsets and cameras. On the one hand, the entry-level Redmi Note 9T will have a MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC, along with a 48 MP primary camera. On the other hand, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 750G will power the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, which Xiaomi will pair with a 108 MP Samsung HM2 camera sensor.
Oddly, the Redmi Note 9T and Redmi Note 9T Pro could well be different sizes. According to multiple leakers, the regular model will have a 6.53-inch display, while the Pro model will have a 6.67-inch panel. Additionally, the regular model will possess a slightly larger battery, albeit with slower charging capabilities. It is unclear when Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 9T series, but it will probably give us a fair warning of when it plans to do so.
