The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S receives a new MIUI 12 update
It has only been a few weeks since Xiaomi upgraded the Redmi Note 9S to MIUI 12 in Europe, which it did with V12.0.1.0.QJWEUXM. However, the company has now seeded V12.0.2.0.QJWEUXM, replacing V12.0.1.0.QJWEUXM in the process. If your device did not receive V12.0.1.0.QJWEUXM, then V12.0.2.0.QJWEUXM should bring it onto MIUI 12 within the next few days.
Xiaomi has not made many changes from V12.0.1.0.QJWEUXM though, so it remains to be seen why it bothered issuing V12.0.2.0.QJWEUXM at all. According to the new build's changelog, Xiaomi has only optimised system performance while improving system security and stability. Typically, this means that Xiaomi has upgraded the device's Android security patch level, but this does not appear to be the case with V12.0.2.0.QJWEUXM.
V12.0.2.0.QJWEUXM will be arriving as an over-the-air (OTA), although the OTA files can already be downloaded manually from Xiaomi's servers. The recovery zip file can be downloaded too, should you wish to start afresh with your Redmi Note 9S. According to Xiaomi Firmware Updater, V12.0.2.0.QJWEUXM is currently a Stable Beta build, although Adimorah Blog disagrees.
