Lenovo K6 Note or Lenovo Lemon revival coming soon to cross swords with the Redmi Note 9
Xiaomi has been preparing to release new Redmi Note 9 smartphones in China, some coming with 5G connectivity capability. It appears the popular Chinese OEM is comparing the forthcoming trio of handsets to the three musketeers, with some sword-related metaphors being bandied about as slogans (“three swords together”). However, Lenovo is ready to cross swords with Xiaomi and in particular with these new additions to the Redmi Note 9 lineup with some affordable midrange champions of its own.
Lenovo has countered the Redmi Note 9 poster and tagline with something else sword-related that doesn’t seem to take too kindly to machine translation: “Where there are people, there are rivers and lakes, three swords? Or six blades? Want to test high with rivers and lakes, high to meet.” Regardless of the confusing symbolism, it seems obvious Lenovo is having a pop at Xiaomi and the Redmi Note 9, which is clearly confirmed by the accompanying image of the smartphones.
The image from Lenovo emulates the Redmi Note 9 one but has the smartphones turned upside down and around to show the screens instead of the cameras. The slogan “6 Coming” has led to speculation that this could be a belated successor to the Lenovo K5 Note (K6 Note) or even a new smartphone in the almost long-forgotten Lenovo Lemon range. The Lenovo Lemon 3, released in 2016, targeted the same customer base as the Xiaomi Redmi 3, and it seems Lenovo still has designs on snatching some of that lucrative affordable smartphone sector away from its rival.
